The Georgia Horseshoe Player of the Year Award was voted into the Georgia Horseshoe Pitchers Association Constitution in 1986. The award encourages participation in tournaments throughout Georgia.  Three percent of the Georgia championship prize fund is distributed between the two players who have accumulated the most points during the year (state tournament to state tournament).  Points are based on attendance and rank, independent of ringer percentage.  The following individuals are the Horseshoe Player of the Year winners and runners-up since the award's inception.
